I mean if you want a shortcut, the easiest way I've seen is do fanart of Newgrounds characters or related properties. If its stylish enough or if its genuinely impressive that seems to be the quickest way to get frontpaged. It should be said though, being frontpaged is a good way to get some awareness but does not guarantee clicks on your other work. Focusing on overall quality and being surprised by being validated by the website is a better goal for long term success.
